The Casting Process.
From Impressions to Finished Product.
Consultation –
Our consultations typically last for 60 minutes, focussing on exploring frame selections, colour palettes and layout preferences. During this time, we utilize a hypoallergenic dental alginate for casting, which sets in approximately 60 seconds without any harm to the skin. This process is efficient, seamless, and ensures a comfortable experience for even the youngest of our clients. Consultations are generally held at the studio, with a call-out fee applicable to consultations held outside the studio premises.
Detailing –
The moulds are filled with a high-quality resin rock stone and allowed 2-6 weeks to dry, determined by the size of the cast. Once fully dried, they are detailed, hand-coloured, varnished and elegantly mounted onto your preferred frame or cut & polished granite base. Once this process is complete, the finished casts are ready for collection from the studio.
